There are various ways you can support our wonderful orchestra, the Brecknock Sinfonia.
We are very grateful to our Friends who donate an annual subscriptions that provides us with vital financial assistance.
We also run a Sponsorship Programme which provides wider opportunities to support our professional players, young soloists and fund other orchestral expenses. This is a chance for Friends and others to donate something extra and become a Patron.
The options to take part in the Brecknock Sinfonia Sponsorship Programme are varied. Sponsorship could provide one-off or ongoing financial assistance towards paying a soloist, the conductor, or key professional players who hold a vital role in the orchestra. Other donations could help to build up our Young Soloists Fund, or sponsor an entire concert.
We are lucky that most of our musicians are keen to play with the Brecknock Sinfonia for the pleasure of being part of such high quality music making. However, we do pay fees to our conductor and our professional players who rely entirely on earning a living from such work. This includes the orchestral leader, our string section principals, and a few key wind and percussion players. All of these musicians contribute hugely to the vibrant success of the Brecknock Sinfonia, ensuring that we maintain such high standards – something that makes us stand apart from many other musical organisations in mid Wales.
Adding a soloist to the programme brings something special to a concert as we help a young musician at the start of their careers by offering them a unique performance experience in Brecon. But it comes with extra costs and so additional financial support enables us to feature more soloists and to explore more varied and ambitious programmes.
Below is a menu list of sponsorship opportunities with suggested donations. If you would like to sponsor us, you can do this by sending an email to membership@brecknocksinfonia.org.uk. You could follow one of the options below in full or in part, offer your own sponsorship ideas, or make a general donation. Any sponsorship or donation over £150 will make you a Patron of Brecknock Sinfonia. Such a donation can be publicly acknowledged or remain wholly anonymous.
Finally, the Brecknock Sinfonia is a charitable organisation and as such any donation may bring tax advantages to the donor. In addition, if you are a UK taxpayer, we would be very grateful if you would agree to gift aid any donation as the additional tax which we can reclaim as a registered charity makes a considerable difference to our running costs.
